Woman charged with weapon and drug related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the woman brandished a weapon.
The woman fled the residence prior to police arrival, however, was located a short distance away in a vehicle.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia.
The weapon was not located.
The 32-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and drug possession for the purposes of trafficking.
She was released pending a future court date June 15, 2023.
Man charged with assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham.
A 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assaulting his brother.
He was released pending a future court date of June 12, 2023.
Man charged with impaired driving
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday around 5:30 p.m. police received information that a man was drinking alcohol while in the driver’s seat of his vehicle in a parking lot of a business in Dresden.
Officers located the man and through investigation suspected he was in care and control of his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
A roadside breath test was administered, and the man failed.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.
The 41-year-old Dresden man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released pending a future court date of June 5, 2023.
