Police: Weapons call to DCC parking garage, impaired driving, B&E investigation

Weapons call Downtown Chatham Centre parking garage

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A citizen observed two youths on the top level of the parking garage of the Downtown Chatham Centre.

One of the youths was observed waving a gun around.

Chatham-Kent officers attended the area and found the two youths exiting the main level and were placed under arrest.

A search located a BB gun in a back pack.

The youths were cautioned about their actions and released to their parents with no charges.

Break and enter Buckingham Avenue in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A house was entered on Buckingham Ave Chatham.

The suspects removed liquor and personal items from the property.

Driving complaint results in impaired charge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by Windsor Police Service and O.P.P. for a possible impaired driver that was called in by citizens.

The registered owner lived in the Merlin area and was located on Port Road in Chatham-Kent.

The woman was placed under arrest and taken to Chatham-Kent Headquarters where she was found to be twice the legal limit.

The woman was charged with operation while impaired 80 plus.

The woman was released with a future court date of May 28, 2023.
