Wallaceburg man charged with mischief in London

OPP officials allege: On July 4, 2023, at 3:16 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while travelling through the City of London, was flagged down by an unknown individual at a local motel, located at 840 Exeter Road.

The complainant observed an individual enter a vehicle, steal some items and enter a motel room.

A short time later, the complainant observed the individual return to the same car at which time the OPP cruiser, in the area, was flagged down to assist.

The individual was arrested without incident.

As a result, a 40-year-old Wallaceburg man, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Trespass to Property Act with:

– Mischief Under $ 5,000

– Engage in prohibited activity on premises

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 29, 2023.
