Lambton OPP officials allege: On July 19, 2023, at 1:43 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Highway 402 in the westbound lanes, Strathroy-Caradoc, for the report of a wrong way vehicle.
Police received multiple complaints about a transport truck that entered the highway at Longwoods Road and travelled eastbound in the westbound lanes. Officers closed the highway at Wonderland Road in the City of London area, at which time the vehicle was stopped.
There were no collisions reported.
A 60-year-old of Ridgeway has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Drive wrong way – Divided Highway.
