Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday September 16, 2023 at approximately 3:24 a.m., emergency crews responded to a residential structure fire on Wellington Street, in the city of Chatham.
There were no occupants home at the time of the fire and no injuries reported.
The Criminal Investigation Section investigated the incident and determined the fire was started.
On September 21st, 2023, the 16-year-old Chatham male was arrested and charged with one count of arson.
The accused has been held pending a bail hearing.
