Multiple charges laid in Wallaceburg following a disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 7, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m. police were called to an address on Thomas Street in Wallaceburg regarding a disturbance.

Police were advised the male tenant was in the hallway of the complex when he began to verbally berate the victim, calling her several obscenities, and then threatened to kill her.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage the accused; however, he fled on foot despite being notified that he was to be placed under arrest.

Officers were able to apprehend the accused when the male began physically pushing police and punching the officer.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged and arrested for Uttering Threats to cause death, Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Assault Peace Officer.

Police learned the accused was also currently wanted for Failing to Attend Court for the charges of Robbery and Resisting or Obstructing Public or Peace Officer.

The accused was transported to police headquarter where he has been held pending bail.
