It was a beautiful evening for the inaugural lighting of the River of Lights and Frost Fest event in downtown Wallaceburg on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Thanks to the many efforts of Jessica D’Felio, Chair of the River of Lights committee, and Rachel Vandorsselaer, BIA Co-Ordinator, and the many volunteers, the event was a major success.
E.R. Schepens provided the electrical work for the new River of Lights display.
Wallaceburg Councillors Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall were also in attendance.
The children’s smiles and excitement were evident throughout the beautifully decorated downtown, along with each vendor who brought they’re own brand of Christmas spirit.
There were horse drawn carriage rides available with two beautiful grey Percheron horses, similar to Clydesdales, and a huge decorated carriage courtesy of Humes Horse and Carriage. They were busy throughout the evening with line-ups of families wanting to enjoy the ride.
Music was played on either end of James Street, with musicians Jeff Black and Mike Uher providing entertainment.
Multiple vendors were setup downtown, with many wonderful products available for purchase.
