Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 23, 2023, the court released the man with conditions after being charged with several intimate partner violence offences.
The conditions prohibited him from communicating with or attending any place where the victim was known to live, work, or go to school.
On November 22, 2023, police learned that the man had breached these conditions over the past couple of months since his release.
Officers also learned on November 14, 2023, the man and the victim engaged in a verbal argument that resulted in the man assaulting the victim again.
When the man could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On December 5, 2023, at 10:41 a.m., the man turned himself in to the police.
The 26-year-old Thamesville man was charged with mischief, uttering threats, two counts of assault and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
