The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to multiple motor vehicle collisions in the past day.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:24 a.m., emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision on Creek Road in Harwich Township.
Officers learned a vehicle travelling northbound failed to navigate around the bend and collided headfirst with a southbound vehicle.
Minor physical injuries were reported, and both vehicles were towed from the area.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was charged with Careless Driving.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 12:55 p.m., an officer responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Kenesserie Road in Howard Township.
Officers learned the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, striking a hydro pole.
The driver sustained no physical injury, and the hydro pole was not damaged.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:33 p.m., officers began investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on St. Clair Street at Emma Street in Chatham.
Officers learned that as a vehicle was turning south on St. Clair Street from Emma Street, it struck another vehicle travelling south. The driver did not stop after contact.
A passenger’s video helped officers identify the vehicle and the driver.
Officers also matched the damage to both vehicles.
The 68-year-old Dresden man was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision and making an improper turn.
He was issued two Part III summons with a court date of February 27, 2024.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:26 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Kent Bridge Road in Rushton’s Corners.
Officers learned the vehicle slid off the roadway, attempting to avoid a collision with a passing vehicle.
The driver sustained no physical injuries, and the passing vehicle’s license plate was not captured.
