Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:49 a.m., police began investigating an impaired driving complaint that originated in the area of Park Avenue East in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officers immediately located the vehicle’s registered owner and identified the driver.
Officers attended the driver’s residence and found him to be intoxicated.
The officers formed grounds to arrest the man for impaired driving.
At 12:23 p.m., he was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 65-year-old Chatham man was charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
He was released with conditions and a future court date of February 5, 2024.
