Crash near Erieau leads to impaired driving charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday afternoon, at approximately 4:20 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection Erieau Road and Middle Line. 

No injuries were sustained.

Through investigation, a 44-year-old Chatham man was found to be operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested.

The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples.

The accused’s breath results were more than double the legal limit.

The accused was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.

When sober, the accused was released with conditions and a future court date of February 12, 2024.
