Fraud charges laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:30 p.m., police attended Mary Street in Chatham and located the man.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

There were also grounds to arrest him in connection to a January 2, 2024, fraud investigation.

The 36-year-old Chatham man currently faces the following charges: theft, fraud, using forged documents, two counts of failing to comply with an appearance order and two counts of possession of stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
