A garage fire on Mary Street in Chatham has caused $150,000 damage.
“Just before 1 a.m. this morning fire crews from Station #1 and Station #2 – Chatham were dispatched to 38 Mary Street for a fully engulfed structure fire,” fire officials said in a media release on Monday, March 4, 2024.
“Pumper 1, Ladder 2, Command 1 and CK2 responded. Upon arrival crews found flames from all sides of an attached garage and the fire had quickly spreading to an RV in the driveway. Firefighters made entry to the property to conduct a search and found no one still inside. Flames were promptly knocked down as firefighters continued to check for fire extension throughout the home.”
Fire officials say the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Damage is estimated at $150,000.
No injuries were reported, fire officials added.
