Failing to attend court charges laid in Wallaceburg and Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In September 2023 while on general patrol, an officer was alerted by the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) of a stolen license plate and conducted a traffic stop.

The officer discovered the vehicle and the license plate had been reported stolen.

The woman was arrested and provided with a future court date.

When she failing to make the scheduled court appearance a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

On April 2, 2024, at 10:25 a.m., police located the 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg and arrested her.

She was released with a new court date of April 29, 2024.

She is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:52 p.m., police located the man on Wellington Street in Chatham.

The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a December 2023 assault investigation.

The 23-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, mischief, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, three counts of theft, and three counts of possession of stolen property.
