Theft charges laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:04 a.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

An officer confirmed the man was wanted on two outstanding warrants from theft investigations in Chatham.

The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and released with a future court date of April 15, 2024.

He is currently facing the following charges: mischief, five counts of theft and five counts of possession of stolen property.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 25, 2024, at 1:40 p.m., the woman entered a store on Winterline Road in Pain Court and removed items from the shelves.

The woman exited the store without paying for the merchandise.

The incident was captured via surveillance, which assisted in the identification.

When the woman was not located a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On April 2, 2024, at 7:41 p.m., the 23-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was located on Murray Street in Chatham and arrested.

She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and released with a future court date of April 29, 2024.
