Stolen cheque complaint in Blenheim leads to fraud charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 2, 2024, police began a fraud investigation after receiving a complaint a stolen cheque had been deposited into an account at a bank in Blenheim.

Through investigation, the officer identified the man as the account holder and formed grounds to charge him.

When he was not located a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 3, 2024, at 11:48 a.m., the 32-year-old Blenheim man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

He was arrested and charged with fraud and possession of stolen property.

He was released with a future court date.
