Mr. Roy Van Damme, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham, at the age of 78.
Roy was born in Chatham and was a son of the late Remi and Leona (DeVisscher) Van Damme.
Beloved husband of Pat (King) Van Damme.
Loving father of Allan (Tammy) Van Damme, Lisa (Ernie) Latif, Corey (Stephanie) Wilkinson and Kyle Wilkinson.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kyle, Jordan, Dylan, Mitchell, Emily, Camryn, Alex and Ryann and 6 great grandchildren Blakely, Cooper, Rylee, Jack, Ben, Bryson and Karter.
Kind brother and brother in law of Pauline Houle (the late Jim) (the late Warren), Helen Palocz (the late Gus), the late Patricia Vince (Wayne) and Wayne King (Wren)
He will be also missed by many nieces, nephews family and friends.
Roy grew up farming and farmed all his life. He enjoyed, Traveling, Hunting, Playing cards and had 50’s music on all the time. His family will always say it had to be “His way, the right way.”
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 3- 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Stem Cell Research or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
