Aggravated assault & weapons charges laid after a stabbing in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:05 p.m., police responded to Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg for a weapons investigation.

Upon arrival officers located a woman with serious puncture injuries.

Officers learned an altercation occurred between two women resulting in one woman assaulting the other with a knife.

The injured woman was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing.

She is currently facing the following charges: aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
