Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two people suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision between a motor vehicle and a motorized scooter in Chatham late Saturday night.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to the collision at the intersection of Richmond Street and Inshes Avenue at about 10:11 p.m. on June 27.
Police said a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Chatham man, carrying one passenger, was travelling eastbound on Richmond Street when a motorized scooter travelling northbound entered the intersection.
The scooter was occupied by a 41-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Chatham. Both were seriously injured and transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Public General Hospital before being transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the motor vehicle were not injured.
Due to the severity of the collision, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation.
