Residents planning to drop off used tires at the Wallaceburg Waste Depot will need to make alternate arrangements after the Municipality of Chatham-Kent announced the site is temporarily unable to accept tires.
The Wallaceburg depot, along with the Harwich and Dover waste depots, has suspended tire acceptance because of ongoing provincewide operational challenges affecting tire recycling.
The municipality said all remaining waste depots in Chatham-Kent will continue accepting tires but are limiting drop-offs to four tires per household until further notice.
Residents are encouraged to check the municipality’s website for waste depot locations and operating hours before visiting.
