Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 6 p.m., police were called to an address on Talbot Trail in Blenheim regarding a family dispute.
On arrival, officers located an intoxicated male and placed him under arrest for being intoxicated in a public place.
The man was transported to headquarters pending sobriety.
On arrival to headquarters, the man became combative and assaulted an officer during the booking process.
A 22-year-old man has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place and assault peace officer.
The man was held in custody until sober and released with a future court date.
