Arrest made after a B&E at a Chatham business

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 18, 2024, at 1:22 a.m., police responded to Wellington Street in Chatham after receiving information a man was observed breaking into a business.

Officers arrived and located the man inside the business with merchandise in his hands.

The glass in the front door of the business had been smashed and the man had visible injuries consistent with the damage observed.

Officers also learned the man was bound by conditions of a probation order not to attend the location.

The 29-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: break-and-enter and failing to comply with a probation order.
