Disturbance in downtown Chatham results in mischief charge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:09 p.m., police responded to Fourth Street in Chatham for a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers learned the woman and the man were engaged in an argument.

During the argument the woman proceeded to knock his head against a glass window of a local business causing it to break.

The two left the area prior to police arrival but were located a short distance away.

The woman was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

The 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held until she was sober.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024.

She was charged with mischief.
