Surety drops out, Chatham man arrested in robbery investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:46 p.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice and was arrested.

On January 21, 2024, the man was arrested as a result of a robbery investigation.

As a result of a bail hearing, the man was released by the court with conditions, including a surety.

When the surety decided to no longer participate a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

The 24-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: break-and-enter, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon/firearm for a dangerous purpose, imitation firearm – use while committing an offence, and robbery.
