Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 18, 2024, at 10:36 a.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street, near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham for a shoplifting investigation.
Officers learned the woman entered the store, removed items from the shelves and concealed them.
The woman left the store without making any attempts to pay for the items.
Surveillance footage assisted with identifying the woman.
On June 25, 2024, at 10:12 a.m., the 39-year-old Walpole Island woman was located on King Street East in Chatham and arrested.
She was transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of July 29, 2024.
She has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
