Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith named Condors’ Man of the Year

Wallaceburg native Seth Griffith has been named the Bakersfield Condors’ recipient of the IOA/American Specialty Man of the Year award, recognizing his contributions to the local community.

The American Hockey League announced the honour, marking Griffith’s first time receiving the recognition.

A two-year captain of the Condors, Griffith was recognized for his leadership on and off the ice during the 2025-26 season. He played a key role in several community initiatives, including delivering thousands of teddy bears to non-profits through the United Way following the team’s annual teddy bear toss in November.

In December, Griffith served as team captain for KUZZ Cares for Kids at Christmas, helping provide gifts and support to a family of nine. The following month, he helped organize a visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Bakersfield alongside Dignity Health, where players met with families and thanked staff.

He also supported the team’s Condors Fighting Cancer initiative in February, which raised more than $35,000 for pediatric cancer patients.

Griffith, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, recently signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the organization through the 2028-29 season.

He is now one of 32 finalists for the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, the AHL’s annual Man of the Year honour named after former player Yanick Dupré, who died in 1997 following a battle with leukemia.
