Man fails Standard Field Sobriety Test in Chatham, charges laid

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:25 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Lacroix Street in Chatham after observing a vehicle matching the description of a traffic complaint received earlier in the evening.

Officers believed the man to be under the influence of alcohol and required the man to participate in a Standard Field Sobriety Test.

When the man refused to comply, he was arrested.

The 55-year-old Chatham man was released with a future court date of August 12, 2024.

He was charged with refuse/failure to comply with a demand.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

His license was also suspended for 90 days.
