Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 10, 2024, at 2:46 a.m., police observed a man run into the backyard of a residence on Margaret Avenue, near Murray Street in Wallaceburg.
The man attempting to evade the officers by jumping in the river and attempting to hide.
The man was located and arrested for trespassing at night.
Further investigation revealed the man was bound by several probation orders and a release order with conditions, which included not to possess any identification not in his name and a weapon prohibition.
Upon a search incident to arrest the man was found with two knives, a wallet that was not his and several other items.
The 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.
He is currently facing the following charges: trespass at night, failing to comply with a release order and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
