The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) has announced the launch of the Build for the Kids final fundraising campaign, a two-week initiative running from Oct. 7 to 20, 2024.
The campaign aims to raise the remaining $500,000 needed to complete the new state-of-the-art facility that will provide children and youth in the community with access to vital therapy services.
Designed to meet the growing needs of children and families, the new building will enhance accessibility and offer a larger, more accommodating space for essential programs, including physiotherapy, social work, and recreational therapy. With $9.5 million already raised, the campaign seeks to inspire the community to help reach the $10 million goal.
The campaign kicked off with great success at Chatham Chrysler, where local service groups and businesses came together to show their support. Donations from community leaders helped raise over $339,800 on the first day, bringing the total closer to the $10 million goal. This early success reflects the strong commitment of the Chatham-Kent community to the essential services provided by the CTC-CK.
The community is invited to participate in 11 events throughout Chatham-Kent from Oct. 7 to 20, including family-friendly activities and local business involvement. Highlights include a British High Tea at Tim Hortons, a White Glove Dinner at McDonald’s, and a Halloween Bash at Red Barn Brewing Co. In addition to attending events, supporters can purchase a campaign t-shirt for $25, available for order online, with pickup at the foundation office. Local schools and businesses are also joining the effort, with students and employees able to buy paper butterflies to personalize and display in support of the cause.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve already seen from our community,” said Mike Genge, president and CEO of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. “This final campaign is about coming together to ensure we can open a facility that truly meets the needs of our kids and their families. Every contribution counts, and we know Chatham-Kent will make it happen.”
