Intimate partner violence investigation in Wheatley leads several charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 7, 2024, at 12:59 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police responded to a residence on Moore Street, Wheatley for a report of intimate partner violence.

Upon police arrival, the accused had fled the scene, and was not located.

Upon investigating this matter, a 25-year-old Wheatley male was wanted for several charges, including assault, and uttering threats.

Later, at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers located the male party at his residence.

The 25-year-old man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing, pending a bail hearing. As a result of the bail hearing, he was remanded into custody with a future court date.
