Knife pulled during a robbery along the railroad tracks off Lacroix Street in Chatham, arrest made

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:15 p.m. on October 26, 2024, two young men were walking along the railroad tracks off Lacroix Street in Chatham.

An unknown individual approached them, pulled out a knife, and demanded “all of their stuff.”

Some items were handed over, and a 911 call was made to police.

Several officers responded and tracked the suspect’s movement through multiple backyards.

The suspect ended up in a fenced industrial area, where police located and arrested him.

A 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and possession of dangerous weapons.

He was held for bail.
