Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a house fire on Edgar Street was deemed suspicious by investigators.
Emergency crews from the Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Fire Service responded to reports of smoke coming from a residence at 170 Edgar Street shortly after midnight on Jan. 18.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and determined that no one was inside the home. A preliminary investigation revealed multiple points of origin, leading officials to classify the fire as intentionally set.
Police are now seeking witnesses who may have seen anything unusual in the area around the time of the incident.
