TBT: Wallaceburg Red Devils ‘Founders Cup’ Champions, 2001

This week’s Throwback Thursday is from the Wallaceburg Red Devils:

On August 19, 2001 your Wallaceburg Red Devils achieved National Supremacy and Captured the Founders Cup forever solidifying their place in history.

The final game of the tournament they would have a rematch against the team who was their toughest opponent earlier in the tournament, the Edmonton Minors.

After a tough battle the Red Devils would pull away and double up on the Miners winning the Founders Cup by a score of 10 to 5.

The fans and parents who traveled from Wallaceburg and who came to support them from cities near Edmonton were almost as ecstatic as the players, coaches, staff and executive.

After only being in the league for four seasons the Red Devils had achieved the ultimate goal!
