Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On February 19, 2025 members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Division (CID) located and arrested a 16-year-old male who was wanted for criminal harassment and failing to comply with probation.
At the time of arrest, the youth was found in possession of a hockey bag that contained a sawed-off Remington 870 shotgun, a heavily modified .22 calibre rifle with its serial number removed, ammunition (including shotgun slugs, rifle rounds, and empty casings), an empty bulletproof vest plate carrier and 10.6 grams of suspected fentanyl.
The youth, who cannot be identified pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was held for bail and is facing the following additional charges:
– Possession of a Prohibited Firearm (2 counts)
– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm (2 counts)
– Careless Storage of a Firearm (2 counts)
– Tampering with a Firearm Serial Number
– Unsafe Storage of Ammunition
– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (3 counts)
