Sarnia police seek suspects after attempted carjacking (Video)

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Sarnia police are seeking the public’s help after an attempted carjacking involving what investigators believe were pellet guns.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after midnight on June 23 in the 200 block of Maria Street.

The victim reported sitting in a vehicle parked in a driveway when two unknown suspects approached and pointed what appeared to be pellet guns at them. One suspect allegedly demanded the victim’s car keys.

The victim reversed the vehicle away from the suspects and then heard a popping sound before the driver’s side window shattered.

The suspects fled on foot toward the intersection of Maria Street and Mitton Street.

Both suspects were described as slim white males wearing dark, baggy clothing. Police said one was also wearing an orange bandana.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, including surveillance or dash camera footage recorded between 11:45 p.m. on June 22 and 12:30 a.m. on June 23 in the area of Maria and Mitton streets, to contact Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.
