Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 7, 2025, at approximately 12:17 a.m., a woman entered into a business on Queen Street in Chatham seeking help after being assaulted by two unknown individuals using bear spray.
Police immediately attended to the area and were subsequently able to locate the involved suspects – two youth under the age of 17.
As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Administer Noxious Substance.
The youth was held in custody pending a bail bearing.
A second 16-year-old male was also charged with Assault with a Weapon and Administer Noxious Substance, however, he was later released from police custody on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
