OPP officials allege: As previously reported, on March 26, 2025, shortly after 3 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton Emergency Medical Services, and Sarnia Fire Rescue Services, responded to a collision involving two tractor-trailers in the westbound lanes of Highway 402 in Sarnia.
As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles became fully engulfed in flames.
The driver and passenger of one of the tractor-trailers were transported to hospital.
Both individuals’ injuries were deemed non-life threatening.
As a result of the collision, Highway 402 westbound between Indian Road and Christina Street, and Highway 402 eastbound between Indian Road and Front Street were closed to allow for vehicle removal and cleanup.
Both directions have since reopened.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Brampton has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following offence: Careless driving causing bodily harm.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court on June 5, 2025.
