Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 26, 2024, at approximately 1:38 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a robbery at a convenience store in Chatham.
It was reported that a male had entered the store and caused significant damage, including the destruction of items.
Upon investigation, it was determined that one of the suspects, a 33-year-old male from Chatham, became irate after being informed that he could not purchase items at the store.
The situation escalated when he threw a glass bottle inside the store, resulting in further destruction.
The suspect then grabbed various items before fleeing.
No injuries were reported.
Later that day, the suspect returned to the store.
Officers were contacted, and he was arrested and charged with one count of robbery.
He was scheduled to attend court on May 6, 2025.
However, he failed to appear, and an endorsed warrant was issued for his arrest.
On May 11, at approximately 11:44 p.m., the accused was arrested on the strength of the endorsed warrant.
He is currently being held for bail.
