Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 14, 2025, at approximately 6:47 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported break and enter in progress at a residence in Chatham.
A male suspect, a 23-year-old male from Windsor, was observed on video taking property from a shed in the backyard of a residence before fleeing the scene.
Responding officers located the individual nearby, where he was identified and arrested without incident.
The individual admitted to police to being in the backyard of the residence.
A search of the suspect revealed stolen property.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the male was on conditions not to be within the jurisdiction of Chatham-Kent due to a previous release order.
The accused is currently facing the following charges:
Count 1: Failing to comply with release order
Count 2: Failing to comply with undertaking
Count 3: Break and enter to commit theft under $5,000
Count 4: Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
He was released with a scheduled court date of May 20, 2025.
