Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 8, 2025, at approximately 5:33 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft in the Chatham area.
A male suspect, a 29-year-old male from Chatham, attempted to steal a bicycle from a local business, but the attempt was prevented by a complainant.
The suspect fled on foot and was later located by the police behind another local business, where he was found spray painting a wall.
As a result of the investigation which was conducted, the individual was arrested and charged with the following:
– Theft Under $5,000
– Mischief Under $5,000
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and released with a scheduled future court date of July 14, 2025.
