Search warrant executed in Chatham stemming from road rage incident, drug trafficking & weapons charges laid

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 10, 2025, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit obtained a Criminal Code search warrant for the residence of a 32-year-old male in connection to a road-rage incident that occurred on May 26, 2025.

The warrant authorized officers to search for a firearm and ammunition.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. members of the Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of on-duty ERT officers, executed the warrant and arrested the male without incident. He was taken into custody for unauthorized possession of a firearm and pointing a firearm.

A systematic search of the residence led to the seizure of the following items:

– 3x 9mm casings

– 1 round of 9mm ammunition

– Two sets of brass knuckles

– 26 grams of cocaine

– 32 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)

– Digital scales

– Packaging material

– A large quantity of Canadian currency

– Cellphone belonging to the accused

The total value of the controlled substances is estimated at $4,800.

The accused was subsequently charged with the following offences:

– Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

– Possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking

– Possession of a prohibited weapon ×2

The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and was released with a scheduled future court date for July 24, 2025.
