Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On June 15, 2025, at approximately 1:50pm, officers were dispatched to Sarnia Harbour for a disturbance.
Information received was that an altercation was occurring near the boat launch.
Upon arrival, officers observed a shirtless male erratically waving what appeared to be a long metal object.
The male was flailing his arms, behaving erratically, disturbing pedestrians and customers at nearby restaurants.
Upon seeing police, he disappeared into a bush line near the southwest end of the marina.
Officers contained the area and deployed a drone to assist in the search.
He was located on a southern break wall comprised of large rocks near the water’s edge.
Given the erratic behaviour and clear safety concerns with his location, Sarnia Fire was requested to assist.
Upon arrival of the Sarnia Fire boat, SPS officers boarded the vessel, made contact with the male and took him into custody without further incident.
He was transported back to shore, and then to SPS HQ to await a bail hearing.
At the time of these offences, the male was subject to two separate probation orders.
These orders contain the requirement to “keep the peace and be of good behaviour.”
The 36-year-old man of no fixed address has been held for bail on the following charges:
– Causing a disturbance
– Breach of Probation X 2
