Man arrested in Woodstock on Chatham-Kent warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham-Kent man has been taken into custody in connection with multiple outstanding warrants stemming from a 2022 break-in.

The original incident occurred on Aug. 9, 2022, when police were called about a suspicious person accessing a private garage. The suspect fled into a nearby cornfield and was not immediately located, but was later identified. He faced five charges including theft, trespassing, obstructing police, and break and enter.

He was arrested on Jan. 18, 2023, but failed to attend a scheduled court appearance on June 20, 2023, resulting in another warrant.

On June 21, 2025, at about 9:54 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service arrested the man and transferred him to Chatham-Kent officers. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
