Two men charged after break-in at vacant Chatham home

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two men are facing charges after Chatham-Kent police responded to a reported break-in at a vacant home on Stanley Avenue.

Police say the incident happened around 8:45 p.m. on June 21. Officers arrived to find signs of forced entry and observed one suspect inside through a rear window. A 38-year-old man from Blenheim and a 46-year-old man from Chatham were arrested at the scene.

Roughly seven grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized. Both men were charged with break and enter and possession of a Schedule I substance.

They were taken to police headquarters and are currently being held for a bail hearing.
