Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 27-year-old Chatham man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle following a reported incident involving his romantic partner.
Chatham-Kent police say the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Sheldon Avenue, when the man drove in reverse while his girlfriend was partially inside the vehicle. A witness attempting to intervene was struck by the vehicle as it moved forward.
The suspect, who admitted to being an unlicensed driver, was later located with his girlfriend and arrested. He was released with conditions and a court date set for July 21.
