Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 3, 2025, at approximately 10:57 p.m. officers from the Chatham-Kent Police Service were patrolling Eastbound on James Street in Wallaceburg when they observed a man, who was known to the officer, walking with a woman.
The man was subject to a Form 11 Release Order, which included conditions prohibiting any association or communication with the woman and mandated that he remain at least 100 meters away from her residence, workplace, or school.
The officers attempted to take him into custody for violating his release conditions.
The accused was uncooperative and resisted arrest, leading to a struggle during which both he and the arresting officer sustained minor injuries. Emergency Medical Services were not required at the scene.
As a result of the incident, the 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with his release order.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held pending a bail hearing.
