Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 30-year-old Leamington woman is facing an impaired driving charge after police observed her vehicle stopped in a lane of traffic late Tuesday night.
Around 10:54 p.m. on July 8, a Chatham-Kent Police officer approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who said she had stopped to respond to a message.
The officer detected signs of alcohol in the vehicle and issued a roadside screening demand. The driver failed the test and was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where further testing showed blood alcohol concentrations of 220 mg and 210 mg per 100 mL of blood.
She was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and released with a court date scheduled for July 21, 2025.
