Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 50-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested after turning herself in on an outstanding warrant related to a previous assault charge.
Chatham-Kent police said the woman was initially arrested on June 15 after officers responded to a disturbance at a Third Street residence. A 63-year-old man was found with a visible injury to his eye following what police described as a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. He declined further medical treatment.
The woman was charged with assault and released with a court date of July 24, which she failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was issued.
Police said the woman turned herself in at headquarters on Aug. 5 around 4:30 p.m. She was arrested and released with conditions and a new court date set for Sept. 11.
