The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for Crown Royal Reserve brand Canadian Whisky – Aged 12 Years due to concerns the product may contain glass.
The recall, issued Aug. 19, applies to 750 mL bottles with the UPC code 0 82000 80992 0 and product code 5199. The product was distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario.
The CFIA classified the action as a Class 2 recall, which means the product may pose a risk if consumed. Consumers are being advised not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected whisky.
The recalling firm is Diageo Canada Inc. No injuries have been reported in connection with the product.
The CFIA said it is monitoring the recall and verifying that industry is removing the product from the marketplace.
