Sarnia woman charged after stabbing on Sutton Street

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A woman has been charged after a stabbing on Sutton Street late Wednesday night that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Police say officers were called to the 100 block of Sutton Street around 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 3 after a physical altercation broke out between two people. Investigators allege a knife was drawn and swung during the dispute, stabbing a third person who became involved.

The victim was stabbed in the lower abdomen and taken to Bluewater Health by Lambton EMS. Police say surgery was required, and the victim is now in stable condition with life-threatening injuries.

The accused fled the scene after hiding the knife, which was later recovered by police. She later arranged to turn herself in to Sarnia police.

A 23-year-old Sarnia woman has been charged with aggravated assault. She was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.

Police say this marks her 26th interaction with the service since September 2024.
